How we started

Scott River has been working in the area of marketing software consultant services since 2007. Based in the heart of Silicon Valley – the company boasts direct and personal access to both clients and consultants.

Scott River Company was specifically founded to deliver ‘white glove’ software and marketing talent solutions with a unique approach: Provide immediate access to the best professionals on the market while simultaneously offering independent consultants access to top-notch organizations and projects. 

Scott River Company takes this novel approach very seriously. While many other consultancies maintain talent on a continuous payroll, Scott River maintains an independent relationship with its databases of engineers and marketing professionals. When projects arise, Scott River leverages its referral based network of available consultants to create a symbiotic match. The result: consultants are happy to get the project they wanted, not the one their employer sent them to – and clients are happy to get an exact match for what he or she was looking for, which is rarely the employee that the consultancy always has “available.”

Having worked in the specialized consulting industry since 1999, Scott Cochran founded Scott River Company in 2007. Based on his experience hiring independent contractors and professional consultants across the High Tech Sales, Marketing and Software industries, he developed his unique referral system to dramatically improve what he saw to be a lacking high-tech talent acquisition process in the Bay Area.  He has recently expanded the scope of the company to high tech support operations, in response to multiple customers requests and to reflect the experience he has had founding and co-founding multiple companies. 

Scott Cochran possesses 20 years’ experience across a variety of industries including high tech advertising, sales and marketing. He teaches Sales and Marketing Classes at several colleges and has developed several products and sold licenses in several fields, primarily in the consumer and automotive industries. Scott holds a BA from UC Irvine and an MBA in Marketing Management from Santa Clara University.
